FEATURED GUEST ARTIST - Susanna CampbellSusanna Campbell is a passionate and experienced music educator and performer based in Houston, Texas. Susanna is principal harpist with the Central Texas Philharmonic and founding member of AURORA and Shoso Duo. In addition to performing she maintains a private harp and piano studio and takes great delight in training and mentoring young musicians. Susanna also teaches music classes at Lone Star College, is on faculty at the Houston Summer Harp Festival as well as Stephen F. Austin State University, and is music director at King's Cross in Cypress.

FEATURED GUEST ARTIST - Dr. John WeinelJohn Weinel, tenor, is an active performer who has appeared with a variety of companies in the Houston area. He has performed the solos in Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ, Britten’s St. Nicholas, Handel’s Messiah with the Woodlands Symphony, Beethoven’s Mass in C, Mozart’s Grand Mass with Kingwood Musical Arts Society, Mozart’s Requiem with Houston Choral Society and Haydn’s Mass in Time of War with the Texas Masters Chorale. John has sung opera roles with the Moores School of Music, Seagle Music Colony, Amarillo Opera, and Lone Star Lyric Opera. You can find John on several recordings including his portrayal of Freddy in Robert Nelson’s A Room with a View released under Newport Classics. Dr. Weinel is the director of voice studies at Lee College, a chorister with Houston Grand Opera and the music director at Hosanna Lutheran Church.

Get into the holiday spirit with the Baytown Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas Sleigh Ride. Fun for the whole family, this holiday concert is a great way to celebrate the season. Sing along to your favorite Christmas carols and enjoy the beautiful sound of a full symphony orchestra perform your favorite Christmas tunes. The BSO will be joined by special guest artists Susanna Campbell (harp) and Lee College professor Dr. John Weinel (tenor).
Music performed will include Sleigh Ride, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, A Christmas Festival, Greensleeves, Saint-Saëns beautiful Morceau de concert for harp and orchestra, and more! Don’t miss this opportunity to share the joy of the holiday season with your family, friends and neighbors. The Baytown Symphony Orchestra will present Christmas Sleigh Ride one time only on December 7, 2019 at 7:30 pm at the Lee College Performing Arts Center. |
